– In effort to address the unique challenges faced by women in the music industry, CreaTeME, in collaboration with several key partners, is hosting a significant event on March 8th at Kraftverk / BARE Studenthus in Skippergata 24b. This event, focusing on female musicians, music students, and industry professionals aims to shed light on various critical topics including the life of women in the music industry, building an image as a female artist in 2024, and the prevalence of physical and mental health issues among female musicians compared to their male counterparts.

Key questions to be explored include the impact of the menstrual cycle on performance and mental health, and strategies for balancing family life with a demanding music career. The event promises to offer insights into turning the menstrual cycle into a super-power and planning activities and practice sessions in harmony with it.

This initiative is a collaboration between CreaTeME, SØRF, AKKS Kristiansand, Bold Type Management, and the Department of Rhythmic Music and Department of Sports Science and Physical Education at UiA. The event will feature a mini-concert by the band Lacebug, along with insightful talks, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and mingling sessions.

Participants are encouraged to bring their questions, experiences, and curiosity to what promises to be an enlightening and empowering event. A detailed program will be announced soon, and interested partisipants are urged to register by February 18th.

This event marks a significant step in addressing gender-specific issues in the music industry and empowering female artists to achieve their full potential.
