CreaTeME Announces PhD Research Fellow Positions in Popular Music Performance

Createme invites applications for 1-2 positions as phd research fellow in popular music performance at the department of popular music for a period of three years. The position is located at campus kristiansand. Starting date by appointment.

 

Createme is a centre for excellence in creative use of technology in music education. Our vision is innovative, inclusive, responsive, and responsible use of technology in music education, and our goal is to become a european nexus for creative use of technology in music education. These objectives will be pursued through research on and through music and music education. Phd research fellow(s) will be part of the createme-team, and will be invited to take responsibilities that follows the status of centre of excellence.

 

The faculty of fine arts comprises 3 departments: the department of popular music, the department of classical music and music education, and the department of visual arts and drama. The faculty has approximately 550 students and 90 members of staff employed in academic positions. See faculty of fine arts. The faculty of fine arts offers several masters- and bachelors studies within fine arts, among them a masters in popular music. The phd-programme has two specialisations, one within popular music performance and one within art in context.

 

“CreaTeME seeks PhD candidates who wish to investigate and develop innovative and creative use of existing or new technology artistically or pedagogically, within the complex, broad, and, interdisciplinary field of popular music studies. 

The project can take the form as a theoretical thesis, or a thesis where the artistic output is a significant part of the project’s results. The candidate can expect to work in an interdisciplinary research environment as part of CreaTeME, says
