D4: Designing Sound, Body, Place and Narrative is a cross-disciplinary week (20–24 Oct) at UiA exploring collaboration across sound, movement, narrative, and spatial design. Seminar and workshop holders include electronic music composer SØS Gunver Ryberg, theatre director Anja Behrens, LOGEN collective, producer and film composer André Bratten, filmmaker Martin A. Walther, visual designer Tord Knudsen, experimental musician Carmen Villain, dancer Irene V. Theisen, and musicologist Keith Negus. Moderation comes from Jeppe Kristensen, Lisbeth Skregelid, Ida Fugli, and Trond Arntzen. The week consist of seminars (20-21 Oct) and student group work (21 – 24 Oct). The week culminates in student showcases at Aladdin Theatre in Kristiansand.

SØS Gunver Ryberg (Denmark)
Electronic composer and sound artist with a background in theatre and installations. Known for intense live experiences and experimental sound. Has composed music for video games (Inside, BAFTA-nominated) and released award-winning works such as AFTRYK.
Anja Behrens (Denmark)
Theatre director based in Copenhagen. Works with reinterpretations of classical works and development of new stage projects. Won the Reumert Award for Ordet, and has also worked with opera and film. Co-founder of the experimental collective Logen.
Tord Knudsen
Lighting designer and visual artist from Stavanger. Creates improvised light and video installations in interaction with music. Long-time collaborator with Nils Petter Molvær and active at Punkt Festival.
André Bratten
Electronic musician and producer from Oslo. Winner of the Spellemann Award for the albums Gode and Pax Americana. Explores ambient and techno, and composes music for film and other art projects.
Martin A. Walther
Documentary filmmaker focusing on social themes and human stories. Known for Train Robbers and The Psychlist. Feature film debut with Pet Farm (2024), which won Best Norwegian Documentary at BIFF.
Carmen Villain
Musician and composer working with ambient and experimental electronics. The album Only Love From Now On received international acclaim. Creates long-form sound works using field recordings, woodwinds, and tape processes.
Irene Vesterhus Theisen
Dancer and curator from Kristiansand, member of Carte Blanche since 2013. Works with stage art, collective curation, and field development. Active in Ravnedans and Dansens Hus. Currently working on Villvekst and Sweet Spot.
Keith Negus (England)
Professor of Musicology at Goldsmiths and the University of Agder. Internationally recognized researcher in popular music, creativity, and cultural industries. Works on music economies, Chinese music, and AI in artistic practice.
Jeppe Kristensen
Professor of Theatre at the University of Agder. Dramaturg and director, with background from fix+foxy and the Royal Danish Theatre. Known for site-specific and socially engaged projects with non-actors.
Jan Bang
Professor of Electronic Music at the University of Agder. Co-founder of Punkt Festival. Pioneer in live sampling and remix, with broad international collaborations and educational work.
Trond Arntzen
University lecturer in film, literature, and theatre at the University of Agder. Author and screenwriter, Amanda-nominated for the short film De berørte. Teaches film and stage art.
Lisbeth Skregelid
Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Agder. Head of the PhD program in Art in Context. Research in art education and aesthetic practice in schools and society.
Ida Fugli
Associate Professor in Theatre at the University of Agder. Playwright and director, leader of Flux Manøver. Winner of the 2025 Norwegian Drama Festival with Angerboda, active in research-based stage art.
