OPEN CALL: ON-SITE Vol 1. @ NOTAM – Electromagnetic listening with Christian Blom
If you are curious about the sounds of electromagnetic fields, would like to start soldering, and learn a bit about electronics, this course could be for you. Electromagnetic waves are all around us in urban landscapes where electricity flows, and they are also a natural phenomenon, for example, during solar storms that cause the aurora borealis. Electromagnetic waves translated into sound have been used by artists such as Christian Kubisch (Germany) and Magnus Bugge (Norway). In their exploration of natural and man-made environments, they reveal an unknown and foreign world that is constantly around us, accessible through a small electronic circuit.
This workshop offers an introduction to electronics, soldering, and sound for beginners—no prior knowledge required.
