CreaTeME invites students to apply for funding to develop creative student-driven projects that explore music, technology, collaboration, and new forms of artistic practice.
Application form open: 1st–10th March 2026 (for students at the Department of Popular Music – UiA)
Each project may apply for 8000 – 15 000 NOK (student salaries cannot be covered, and purchased gear must be returned to the GearLibrary) and can be planned for either the spring or fall semester.
Applications are evaluated by the CreaTeME student team based on relevance, feasibility, and alignment with CreaTeME’s values, focus areas, and objectives (which you can read more about at https://createme.uia.no/about/).
About the call
Project Categories (all applications must select a category)
1. Workshops
Organize workshops with practitioners/artists/mentors, preferably from other creative fields (visual arts, tech, dance, design, entrepreneurship, gaming etc) to explore new perspectives and collaborative methods. Workshops should be easily manageable, and small-scale.
2. Instrument Innovation & Audience Engagement
• Design and program custom instruments, interfaces, or effects for your project.
• Create performances where audiences actively participate
• Develop interactive systems and/or performances that challenge or change performer-listener relationships
• Challenge and develop the live-remix concept in your ways.
3. Collaborative Productions
Student-driven concerts, installations, or productions with students from other institutions (local/national/international). Explore distance collaboration, hybrid formats, and network building. The projects should be innovative and involve creative use of technology.
4. Entrepreneurship & Value Creation
Artistic projects or seminars that redefine success, failure, and value in music practice. Create ventures for specific audiences or communities.
5. CreaTeME Talks (Podcast Series)
Curate and host discussion events or talks on contemporary music education, practice, and innovation. Each talk will be recorded and released as a podcast episode.
6. Other Initiatives
What CreaTeME hasn’t thought of – but you find interesting to develop or create in the project based on CreaTeME’s goals and the institute’s focus areas.
