CreaTeME presented “Electronic Night” at BARE studenthus on the 1st of October

On the 1st of October, the University of Agder’s Electronic Music program delivered a performance with the arrangement “Electronic Night” at BARE studenthus.

This event showcased the artistic and technical abilities of the program’s students, offering a night with diverse and experimental sounds. From improvised electronic compositions to commercially inspired pop, the students brought their creativity to life, reflecting the innovative spirit of the program.

The Bachelor’s in Electronic Music at UiA is designed for those passionate about creating or refining their own artistic sound, whether working solo or collaborating with others. Students explore various aspects of sound design and production, learning the skills to produce, mix, and master their work. However, the program emphasizes creativity over technical expertise, seeking students with unique perspectives and artistic personalities.

Electronic music is a broad genre, heavily reliant on technology and electronic tools. Influenced by artists like The Weeknd, Björk, Sophie, Aphex Twin, Sigrid, and Brian Eno, the program encourages a wide range of musical styles. Students are free to experiment with sound and production techniques, building their own identity as electronic musicians.

“Electronic Night” was a celebration of this philosophy, giving students a platform to perform their original pieces and gain feedback. It highlighted the collaborative and explorative environment at UiA, where learning happens through hands-on experience and artistic exchange. For those intrigued by manipulating sound and experimenting with electronic music, this Bachelor’s program offers the perfect foundation to develop their craft.
