New AI-course supported by CreaTeME: AI and Music I – A Practical Introduction to AI Tools for Music Teachers in Primary Schools

CreaTeME and the University of agder are excited to announce the launch of a new course, KI and Music I, designed specifically for music teachers in primary education. This course focuses on the practical application and creative use of modern artificial intelligence (AI) tools in music, making it an ideal fit for teachers, freelancers, and anyone passionate about music who wants to enhance their skills in utilizing AI technologies. It is a Digital micro-module worth 2.5 credits focusing on relevant AI tools for music in primary school education.

Course Overview

AI and Music I aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of how AI can transform music education. The course covers:

 

Introduction to Modern AI Tools for Music: Participants will explore various AI technologies available in the music field, including tools for music composition, sound manipulation, and even songwriting.

 


How to Instruct (Prompt) Different AI Models:
Learning how to effectively interact with AI models is crucial for maximizing their potential. This course will teach participants how to give clear instructions to AI systems to achieve desired outcomes.

 

Development of Teaching Plans Using AI Tools: Dedicating time to create engaging and innovative lesson plans that incorporate AI will be a key focus, enabling teachers to seamlessly integrate these technologies into their classrooms.

 

This course is entirely online, allowing for flexible learning without the need for physical attendance. Participants will engage through various digital platforms, facilitating interaction and ongoing support throughout the course.

 


Collaboration with CreaTeME

KI and Music I is conducted in collaboration with CreateMe, a leader in the field of AI and music. This partnership ensures that participants receive cutting-edge knowledge and skills relevant to the evolving landscape of music education.

Assessment Structure

The course will conclude with an individual portfolio submission, which consists of:

 

An audio submission of at least two minutes, showcasing the application of AI tools in music.

A written reflection of approximately 500 words, where participants will discuss their experiences and insights gained from utilizing AI in their teaching practices.

Further information about the assessment will be provided in Canvas at the start of the semester.

Practical Information

Semester Fee: In addition to the course fee, a mandatory semester fee of NOK 735 will be required, payable to the student welfare organization. More details will be provided during the course.
