Launching the new “When I” video series: Elektrosløyden vol.1 with Koka Nikoladze
Welcome to “When I”
“When I” is a new video series from CreaTeME that dives into the transformative experiences of artists as they explore new creative territories. In our first episode, we’re thrilled to bring you Elektrosløyden Vol. 1, led by the acclaimed artist, composer, and instrument builder Koka Nikoladze.
This workshop invited students into the fascinating world of DIY electronics, coding, and instrument design, where creativity and technology fuse to unlock endless artistic potential. Held on April 29-30, 2024, at the BARE studenthus and hosted by CreaTeME, Elektrosløyden provided an inspiring space for hands-on exploration.
The name “Elektrosløyden” is a nod to Norway’s traditional sløyd—a craft rooted in skill-building and creativity, typically focused on woodworking. Here, sløyd is reimagined for the digital age, offering a modern-day playground for artists to construct their own musical instruments and reimagine what sound can be.
Join us as we explore how artists today are crafting new tools and techniques to drive musical innovation, making technology their creative partner on the journey to redefining what’s possible in sound and performance.
